Models and Final Products

As both the designer and builder of My Folks' Place, I found the CAD computer program to be an integral design and construction tool. By creating realistic computer models, I was able to examine potential design flaws and perfect the structure before it was constructed. CAD also allowed me to generate a specific list of material quantities and sizes. This "cut list" sped the actual constru ction process and drastically reduced material waste. Material efficiency saved the homeowners money and is a critical environmental practice.
