Frame
New studs were added to the frame to make the walls thicker, more insulative, and for increased strength. The first and second floor studs and beams were upheld and fortified with new studs, but the third floor was completely demolished and reconstructed. The building became lighter as we restructured and organized the new framing. Windows were reframed into new positions that maximized views, light, and privacy. City building codes allowed the addition of a two-floored tower, each floor at 90 square-feet, to the eastern side of the trapezoidal structure.
